Orchestra Omaha Concert - February 19

altOrchestra Omaha will present a concert at St. Paul's at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 19. Titled "Small Wonders," the program includes Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 2 (Little Russian). The general public is invited to the free concert (donations accepted).

Orchestra Omaha, Omaha’s community orchestra, was founded in 1999 by a group of Omaha musicians. Its mission is to provide Omaha area musicians opportunities to perform in a symphony orchestra while offering the community an artistically engaging experience. Orchestra personnel are accountants, engineers, artists, attorneys, physicians, teachers, parents, retirees, students and, most of all, dedicated musicians.

Mr. Kenneth Meints is the music director and conductor of Orchestra Omaha. Prior to his appointment in 2006, he conducted student and adult orchestras in Illinois, California and Nebraska. He received a Master of Music degree in trombone from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and is nearing completion of a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Orchestral Conducting from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is an Associate Professor of Music at Peru State College, in addition to teaching trombone and conducting at the Omaha Conservatory of Music.
