Prayer is the practice of the presence of God. It is the place where pride is abandoned, hope is lifted, and supplication is made. Prayer is the place of admitting our need, of adopting humility, and claiming dependence upon God. Prayer is the needful practice of the Christian. Prayer is the exercise of faith and hope. Prayer is the privilege of touching the heart of the Father through His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. James 4:8

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:6-7

Father, in Your mercy, hear our prayers.

Please, join the President's Prayer Team in praying for coastal Texas and Louisiana:

For the storm to lose energy and move away from the coast For citizens in need—particularly the marginalized, the ill and the homeless—to have assistance and guidance as they evacuate
For churches to step up and provide shelter, supplies and support when and where possible
For the protection of all involved—for police, fire and emergency medical workers, for those responsible for utilities and transportation and everyday citizens seeking refuge
For deaths, injuries and damage to be minimal

Joanne Fricke wrote the following prayer request:

Please pray for Cole, our grandson, who was involved in a construction accident this morning. He was knocked off a scaffold by a beam, and was unconscious for some time. He is in the hospital, and they will keep him over night, but it appears he has not suffered any severe injury. He does not remember what happened, but was eating a cracker and talking to us when we left. Luckily, he did not fall very far and other workers were there immediately. I have always heard that things come in threes, so hopefully this will be that last for our family.

My Mom in Iowa got home from the hospital on Fri, with oxygen, and seems to be doing ok. I will go tomorrow to spend the day with her.
Verna is about the same, losing weight daily, but can still talk to us some. She is eating very little, and is very week. She did receive communion on Sunday, thanks Jane, for your visit.

We know prayers help, and thanks to all who has offered them to our families.

Milt and Joann Fricke
