Prayer is the practice of the presence of God. It is the place where pride is abandoned, hope is lifted, and supplication is made. Prayer is the place of admitting our need, of adopting humility, and claiming dependence upon God. Prayer is the needful practice of the Christian. Prayer is the exercise of faith and hope. Prayer is the privilege of touching the heart of the Father through His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. James 4:8

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:6-7

Father, in Your mercy, hear our prayers.

My 22-year old daughter, Ashley, is in need of your prayers. She recently began work as a certified nursing assistant while she's in nursing school. Her first position is in a care facility in Gretna. On about her 3rd night there she had an elderly woman she was offering comfort to, holding her hand, and the woman passed away while Ashley was with her. She came home terribly upset, as she wasn't prepared to deal with something like that yet. I ask prayers for her to understand that this woman needed her comfort, has gone to a much better place, and for strength for her so she doesn't get discouraged.

Thanks very much.

Lisa

April Clark wrote the following request:

Please add Tina - the girl friend of a co-worker to our prayer chain Tina is only 41 and last Thursday she had a stroke. She has been in an induced coma since then because for the first 5 days her brain was bleeding and they couldn't stop it. Yesterday it finally stopped, and this is Doug's latest report:
" Tina is totally off the paralytic medication and she handled it very well yesterday. The medication to keep her in a coma
is going to be dropped off so she will be in the lightest of coma’s but not allowed to wake up. She is doing very good right now, physically. We still have no idea what kind of damage the stroke caused. We might not know this for a few days.

Big family meeting with the hospital tomorrow morning. Thank you all for your prayers to get her to this point. If you could please continue to pray for when we do wake her up we would both appreciate it! "

So if you could add her to the prayer chain - that would be awesome. Prayer so far is working - two days ago they basically pronounced her brain dead, and now there is hope again.
