Bishop Rhymes Moncure, Jr., appointed the Rev. Dr. Dan Flanagan as Senior Pastor of Saint Paul's United Methodist Church, effective July 1, 2002. Dr. Flanagan replaced the Rev. Wesly Ballard who was appointed to retirement.
Dr. Flanagan was born and raised in Cozad, Nebraska, on the farm first homesteaded by his great-great-grandparents. He received his undergraduate degree from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, a master of theology from Southern Methodist University, and a doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) from the University of Massachussetts, Amherst.
Dr. Flanagan came to Saint Paul's from the Norfolk Parish, where he was senior minister. He has wide experience in the pastorate and also in educational administration, teaching and broadcasting. |
